Citrix as a Corporate Citizen
Our Growth Includes Responsible Corporate Citizenship Around the World.
Citrix in Florida and Broward County
Citrix has a long history of acting locally in Florida, and especially in Broward County, where the company moved in 1989. Our global headquarters is located in Fort Lauderdale. Over the years, Citrix has steadily increased its commitment to Broward County. Many of our employees and their families live there, so quality of life and local community involvement are major issues for us. Citrix is a Governors Inner Circle sponsor of Broward Days a non-profit, non-partisan organization that provides an open forum for the community to participate in the states legislative process.
Citrix as a Global Citizen
Citrix is rapidly expanding its business every day. With that growth comes the responsibility to be a worldwide corporate citizen. Globally, Citrix works in partnership with the United Nations, the World Bank Institute and the Digital Development Partnership to support the Sister Cities Network for Sustainable Development, which focuses on the UNs Millennium Development Goals and draws from its 2,100 communities in 122 countries. Citrix works to make a difference in these communities by providing our products, our business skills and our personal time to fill the digital divide and enable information access for all.
One example of Citrixs global citizenship was when Tribal Chief Nana Akuoko Sarpong, Omahene of Agogo, Ghana, visited Citrix headquarters in Fort Lauderdale to discuss how Citrix technology is aiding in Ghanas economic development plans. In cooperation with the Sister Cities Network for Sustainable Development, the World Bank and UN Habitat, Citrix committed to establishing an ISP/ASP applications systems operation and training center in the Agogo Traditional Area, to provide information access for community development, education and improved healthcare. The centers access infrastructure will dramatically improve information exchange, enabling e-learning through World Bank programs such as HIV/AIDS education, treatment and prevention. Information and application access will foster new entrepreneurial activity like the planned 1,400 hectare aquaculture and hydroponics complex (fish and vegetable farming on a large commercial scale). It is these kinds of global relationships that make the promise of technology a reality... in Ghana, and around the world.
